A blast hit southern district of Beirut killing at least five people and injuring 35 others.

Shahan Kandaharian, editor of Aztag daily, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the blast occurred near a book store in Haret Hreik district. A car bomb exploded damaging the first five floors of the building where a book store is located.

According to preliminary information, Armenians have not been affected by the blast. Kandaharian said Armenians do not reside in the southern district of Beirut.
