Maksim Titov, Police Chief of Domodedovo International Airport of Moscow, was arrested on Tuesday.

Titov is suspected of abusing his position and beating an Armenian man. 

The incident had taken place in 2012. The airport police on duty had received information about the gathering of “suspicious persons.” The police officers who arrived at the scene had demanded from those that had gathered to show documents, but those gathered “had resisted.” Furthermore, Titov had hit one of them several times, Lifenews reports.

According to Titov’s attorney, however, the senior police official charged with taking part in the airport police’s illegal arrest of two Diaspora Armenians, Interfax news agency reports.
