YEREVAN. – Armenian parliament on Tuesday approved in the first reading draft bill on Special Investigation Committee with 71 votes for, 2 – against and 37 abstentions.
 
The draft bill provides for consolidation of the investigating authorities of the Ministry of Defence and Police. In the future, the government plans to join investigating authorities of other agencies. According to rumors, former Attorney General Aghvan Hovsepyan is considered as a candidate to head the new committee.

Armenian parliament on Monday also approved a draft bill on administrative and territorial division.
