YEREVAN. – Following the September 3 decision to join Customs Union, Armenia did not sign Association Agreement that had an impact on economic cooperation only, Justice Minister said.

Speaking in parliament on Wednesday, Hrayr Tovmasyan said the decision did not affect the rest areas of cooperation.

He said work is being carried out to elaborate format of further cooperation between Armenia and EU in the field of free trade.

“Cooperation continues in other areas, in particular in justice system. The evidence is a meeting of EU sub-committee on justice, liberty, security and  human rights that will be held in Yerevan on March 29,” he said.

Tovmasyan  said that prior to September 3, Armenia and the EU had been negotiating on €20- million support in the field of justice. Later an agreement on €28-million program in this area was signed.

“Cooperation continues, indicating that that the reforms and programs in this area, together with the EU will continue regardless of  Armenia's foreign policy line,” he said.
