YEREVAN. – A delegation from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) is in Armenia since Wednesday, and on a three-day visit.

The NATO delegation is led by Frank Boland, Director of Force Planning at Defence Policy and Planning Directorate of the NATO International Staff.

First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan received the delegation on Wednesday, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Armenia MOD.

Tonoyan noted that the discussions, which will take place over the next three days, will enable to reinspect the Armenia MOD’s and the NATO organizations’ mutual commitments in the implementation of—and the assistance in—defense reforms, and to outline the prospects for the parties’ cooperation in the continuation of the joint international peacekeeping and, in this context, the formation of interoperable capabilities.

In turn, Boland noted that the implementation of mutual commitments contributes to the strengthening of Armenia-NATO mutual trust and the individual components of Armenia’s defense, and to the raising of the level of Armenia’s interoperability with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
