YEREVAN. – Sculptor Ara Shiraz, who was also the son of renowned Armenian poet Hovhannes Shiraz, passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday. 

Armenian News-NEWS.am learned the aforesaid from capital city Yerevan’s Nairi Medical Center, where Shiraz was hospitalized.

Ever since being transferred to the hospital on February 22, Shiraz neither regained consciousness nor breathed on his own. 

The well-known sculptor was breathing through an artificial respirator, and the physicians were keeping him alive solely with medication.   

Ara Shiraz had been diagnosed with a brain stroke, with numerous existing other illnesses.
