EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule did not rule out that Ukraine could join EU, Deutsche Welle reported.

He believes if EU wants to seriously change that part of Eastern Europe that was affected by current events, the Union could use the most powerful policy tool, namely enlargement. In an interview with Die Welt, Fule said this instrument has an unprecedented and effective stabilizing force.

Earlier EU confirmed readiness to sign a political part of Association Agreement with Ukraine on March 21 and assured intention to continue providing assistance to the country.
