Russian Foreign Ministry said EU sanctions will not remain unanswered.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the foreign office said attempts to speak with Russia “a language of force” and threats to Russian citizens will lead to nowhere, Interfax reported.

Adoption of restrictive measures is not Russia’s choice, but the imposed sanctions will not remain without adequate response, the statement said.

On Monday EU and U.S. announced sanctions against Russian officials providing for travel bans and freezing of assets.
