YEREVAN. – Russian President Vladimir Putin’s address on Tuesday had domestic and foreign political importance.
National Academy of Sciences of Armenia Institute of Orientology Director Ruben Safrastyan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.

As per Safrastyan, first and foremost, the Russian president’s speech was directed at his fellow citizens.

“Russia needed such an address. In the 1990s, the Russian population felt that it was not being treated in accordance with its imperial history.

“Now, however, such a speech can unite the people around the notion of restoring Russia’s might,” the analyst stressed.
Ruben Safrastyan noted that Putin’s address also had the objective of presenting Russia’s position to the West.

Vladimir Putin’s address, which was made at the Kremlin, was associated with Crimea’s and Sevastopol’s joining Russia.
