YEREVAN. – The surgery of Mamikon Khojoyan—who was released from Azerbaijani captivity—went as normal, and he already has been moved from the Intensive Care Department.

Karen Manukyan, Head of the Trauma Department at Surb Grigor Lusavorich (Saint Gregory the Illuminator) Medical Center—where  Khojoyan is being treated—of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am

Manukyan noted that Khojoyan is back in the Trauma Department, he is in stable condition, and he should be discharged from the hospital in ten to fifteen days.

Incidentally, the elderly man’s memory has partially restored; he recognizes his relatives, and he is able to speak and answer questions.

Mamikon Khojoyan, 77, a resident of Verin Karmiraghbyur village of Armenia’s Tavush Region, was taken captive by Azerbaijan on January 28. He suffers from mental illness. Azerbaijan returned the elderly to Armenia on March 4. Preliminary medical examination, however, revealed that Khojoyan has multiple fractures and injuries as well as numerous wounds and cracks.
