YEREVAN. – There is snowfall, as of Monday at 9:30am, in several cities and regions in Armenia, the Road Police informed.

As a result, there is black ice on numerous roads, and this poses a danger to traffic.

In addition, Vardenyats (Selim) Mountain Pass and Berd-Chambarak Highway are closed due to blizzard and poor visibility.

But the roads are being cleaned, and the Road Police officers are providing help to the drivers.

Due to the heavy snow that fell in Armenia in the early morning hours on Sunday, the police are conducting enhanced control on the country’s roads.

Motorists in Armenia are urged to exercise extreme caution and alertness, and to drive solely when absolutely necessary.
