YEREVAN. – Sunday’s heavy snowfall, which presented a “surprise” to Armenian capital city Yerevan at the end of March, caused problems for pedestrians and drivers, alike.

Most drivers, who already had removed the winter tires from their vehicles, either did not pull their cars of their garages, or did pull them out thereby putting their and others’ lives at risk.

Numerous Yerevan residents told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they had to bring their winter clothing back down from the upper shelves of their wardrobes.

The water tap is kept open for 24 hours a day, in the districts where there are detached houses for the most part, so that the water pipes would not freeze up.

The heavy snowfall seems to have caught Yerevan Municipality off guard, too. Its snow removal equipment have passed solely through the central streets. There is no sense in speaking about the sidewalks, courtyards, and staircases.
Just like the Yerevan city hall, the aforementioned drivers have placed their hopes on the rise in air temperature, which is forecast for Wednesday.
