YEREVAN. – We need to have a radical change in power, a new coalition government because today there is no political party which can form an overwhelming majority at the National Assembly in real elections in Armenia.

Opposition Heritage Party Board Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am

Martirosyan does not believe that ex-PM Tigran Sargsyan actually had offered his resignation back in February, since the actions taking place in the political arena do not bespeak this.

“Perhaps the decision was made after the decision of the Constitutional Court [on Wednesday and with respect to the controversial mandatory funded pension law]. It is clear that the President said: ‘Hand in your resignation,’” he stated.

As per Martirosyan, however, by and large, Sargsyan’s resignation is insignificant because changing the PM and the government will not yield any positive change in Armenia without a complete change in power.

Heritage’s senior official added that Armenia needs an individual who does not have “connections” with the past authorities, since the latter have had a huge negative track-record.
