A 8.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Pacific Ocean near Solomon Islands.
As reported by U.S. Geological Survey, the tremors were registered 180 kilometers to the south-east from the city of Kirakira with the epicenter at the depth of 10 kilometers.
No casualties or damages have been reported yet. A tsunami alert was announced in the coast of Solomon Islands and the neighboring states, RIA Novosti reported.
