The remains of Gabriel Garcia Marquez will be cremated during a private ceremony at the request of his family, El Universal writes.

Nobel prize-winning author died in Mexico City on Thursday at the age of 87.

His relatives give no additional comments related to the ceremony not informing whether his remains will be transported to Columbia.
