YEREVAN. – The opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Youth Union has convened a party convention in capital city Yerevan.

During the event the organization is expected to be renamed ANC Youth Congress.

In addition, ANC Party leader, First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan is expected to address the convention.
Aside from the ANC members, the youth wing members from the other four non-ruling National Assembly factions (Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage) also are in attendance.

Convention moderator Arshak Musakhanyan stated that this is the first convention ever since ANC was renamed a political party and also because the matter of political prisoners is not on their agenda for the first time, since they have achieved their release.
