YEREVAN. – Armenia's Transport Ministry is in constant contact with the drivers of  trucks on the situation in Georgia, Minister Gagik Beglaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Hundreds of vehicles, including from Armenia, were returning back after a landslide blocked the Upper Lars checkpoint on Georgian-Russian border on May 17.

“Restoration work is in progress and is under control. Everything is on schedule,” Beglaryan said.

The Minister said there is no need in sending crews of workers to Georgia, as “our colleagues will cope with the problem”.

The ministry will provide additional information on final terms when the road will be cleared, but most likely the drivers of heavy trucks will wait for the opening and will not return to Armenia.
