YEREVAN. – The two lanes of Yerevan-Tbilisi road are open to traffic after a rockslide on Tuesday evening, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan said.

The necessary equipment has been sent to the site on Tuesday evening immediately after rockslide occurred, he said, adding that one-lane traffic was resumed by midnight, while the second lane was opened by 1am.

On the same day, the landslide partially closed Goris-Kapan road, a section of the highway connecting Armenia and Iran. The road was open to traffic by the morning.

“The landslides are caused by frequent rains. We do our best to eliminate consequences shortly,” Gevorgyan assured.
