YEREVAN. – The court hearings on Shant Harutyunyan's case were adjourned as advocates of the defendants did not appear in the court room.

This did not prevent Harutyunyan from delivering a speech. Addressing his supporters who stand trial along with him, the activist urged them to conduct their own defense, citing lack of confidence in justice. The next meeting will be held on June 25.

On November 5, 2013 Harutyunyan and several dozen supporters wearing Guy Fawkes “Anonymous masks”—had started a march toward the Presidential Palace, but the police had stopped the march.

As a result, there was a scuffle and explosions, and the police detained 38 activists. Subsequently, criminal charges were laid against fourteen of them, including Harutyunyan and his 15-year-old son Shahen. As a result of the melee, sixteen people, including eight police officers, were injured.
