YEREVAN. – Cooperation with Germany has a special place on Armenia's foreign policy agenda, PM Hovik Abrahamyan said during a meeting with German Ambassador Rainer Morell, KfW Director Roland Siller, Senior Vice President for Europe and Asia, and Director of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) Armenian Office Dagmar Bot.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted further strengthening and development of the Armenian-German relations.

“The Armenian government will do everything to expand economic and political relations between the two countries,” Abrhamyan said and thanked German side for a wide-ranging technical and financial support.
 
Ambassador Morell praised the current level of bilateral cooperation and expressed readiness to continue efforts into implementattion of the Armenian-German joint projects in various fields.

The parties discussed issues related to programs that are supposed within the framework of cooperation between the Armenian government and KfW. In particular, the Prime Minister and Roland Siller touched upon works on the construction of  Capsa reservoir funded by KfW. The sides expressed hope that  a loan agreement will be signed in September,

According to Armenian PM, the construction of reservoirs is one of the priorities of the government, and in the coming years construction of four new reservoirs is planned.

The parties stressed  importance of the construction of an overhead power line between Armenia and Georgia which will be implemented with the support of KfW bank.
