YEREVAN. – Foreigners, including tourists from former Soviet states, have poor information about Armenia and its sites, head of travel agency said.

Marina Kpryan, director of Armenia Travel agency, believes Armenia first of all needs good publicity, as foreigners are not aware of what they can watch in the country. Besides, for the development of tourism Armenia should attract more famous hotel chains.

As to reporters' remarks about high prices for hotels and air tickets, the travel agent said such problems “are not solved by a presidential decree”.

“There are market mechanisms that are working amid strong competition and affect lowering of prices,” the expert added.
