Based on numerous complaints, the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (ASCPEC) launched an investigation into the activities of the UTair Armenia (UTair Aviation) airline company.

According to the complaints, the airline company had announced that it is conducting Moscow-Yerevan-Moscow flights for €49, one way, but, in actual fact, this information is false.

ASCPEC found out that the minimum ticket price for a Moscow-Yerevan-Moscow one-way flight is actually €126.48.

It was also found out that the UTair Leasing Ltd., which is registered in Russia, is the 100-percent shareholder of UTair Armenia, and it determines the latter’s pricing and advertising policies, whereas UTair Armenia solely deals with ticket sales.

So, the matter refers to the activities of a Russia-based company.

As a result, and with the ASCPEC’s decision, the respective reports on this case will be forwarded to Russia, to process the matter and continue the investigation.
