ALEPPO. – An Armenian died Thursday as a result of the shelling of the Armenian-populated Azizieh district of Aleppo, Syria.

The press service of the Diocese of Aleppo of the Armenian Apostolic Church informed the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The person who lost his life was Koko Mgrian, who was born in 1963. He will be laid to rest on Friday.

On Wednesday, four Armenians had sustained injuries as a result of the shelling of the Armenian-populated districts of Aleppo.

Before the start of the bloody events in Syria, around 60 to 70 thousand Armenians lived in the country, and more than half of them resided in Aleppo.
