YEREVAN. – Armenian Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan on Friday received Karen Grigoryan, Armenia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Iraq. 

Before leaving for Iraq, Grigoryan had wished to clarify the avenues for expanding future Armenian-Iraqi cooperation in agriculture.  

Karapetyan spoke about the existing ties between the agriculture ministries of both countries and noted that this domain has great potential for development, informed the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture press service. The minister specifically pointed to the opportunities for exporting sheep meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, potatoes, mineral and drinking water, natural juices, and canned vegetables from Armenia to Iraq.

In turn, Ambassador Grigoryan expressed willingness to discuss in more detail with the Iraqi side the possibility of cooperation in the noted areas and creating favorable conditions for exports.
