STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan on Saturday signed a decree. 

Accordingly, NKR Defense Army machine gunner, Private Movses Gasparyan has been posthumously awarded with the “For Service in Battle” Medal for his bravery shown during the protection of the NKR state borders.

Gasparyan (born in 1994) had received a fatal gunshot wound from the adversary on Friday at around 3pm.

The incident had occurred at a military base of a protection area of an NKR Defense Army unit stationed in the southeasterly direction of the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces.
