New suspects have appeared in the criminal case into the subway accident in Moscow, reported the Izvestia daily of Russia.

The investigators plan to bring charges also against the road inspectors who had inspected the subway tracks several hours before the tragedy.

These inspectors should have informed the Moscow Subway management about the damage in the tracks, but they did not.

At present, the investigators are considering opening a criminal case against the inspectors’ group, and on charges of negligence.

On July 15, three subway cars were derailed in Moscow Subway. As a result, twenty people lost their lives. There are numerous injured—including two young Armenian women—in hospitals, and a criminal case is instituted on the incident. In this connection, on July 17, the subway system’s road service master and his assistant were detained and, subsequently, taken under custody until September 15. According to the Russian special investigative services, they are suspected of violating traffic safety rules.
