The European Union (EU) countries are not thrilled by the anti-Russian sanctions.
Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated the aforementioned at a briefing, reported the ITAR-TASS news agency of Russia.
“We [Russia] want to assess the situation in a level-headed manner. We certainly cannot overlook this. But it is unbecoming of a large state to become hysterical, or counter a blow with a blow, because of that.
“They [the sanctions] cannot achieve their objectives when it comes to Russia. We [Russia] are not joyful about them [the sanctions], but we will surmount the complications that have occurred in some domains of the [Russian] economy. And we may [even] become more self-regulating and more confident in our strength.
“[But] I’m confident that the decision-makers of the sanctions get no pleasure from it, and they would have preferred to adopt completely different decisions,” Lavrov specifically said.
