YEREVAN. – Armenia and Azerbaijan are forced to carry out balanced policy more carefully, a political analyst said.

Deputy head of Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan is convinced that amid constantly growing tension between the West and Russia, both Armenia and Azerbaijan have less possibilities of manoeuvring. At the same time the number of threats is growing as well.

“For example, no one can guarantee that Russia will not try to make obstacles to the supplies of Caspian oil and gas to Europe. Baku is very much afraid of it. It is clear that in the context of Cold War, the countries may take moves that were considered impossible only one or two years ago,” Minasyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.
