YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on Thursday received a delegation headed by EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Herbert Salber.

The Minister congratulated Salber on his appointment and expressed hope that the EU Special Representative's mission will contribute to resolution of regional conflicts and to promotion of regional cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on settlement of Karabakh conflict. Minister Ohanyan briefed the EU official on situation at the line of contact, drawing his attention to necessity of international control of armament and strengthening of confidence building measures.

Herbert Salber, for his part, noted that EU unanimously recognizes the leading role of OSCE Minsk Group, but is ready to make its contribution to the peaceful settlement as much as possible.
