YEREVAN. – The Russian Federal Tourism Agency Rosturizm and private tour operators already are advertising Crimea, in Armenia, as a tourism destination.
Mekhak Apresyan, who is Head of the Tourism and Economic Development Department at the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.
“They are very active, and I have to say that our [Armenian] tour operators likewise [are very active]. Familiarization visits are already organized. And why not? Our tourists, especially the more elderly, remember Crimea [from the ex-Soviet era]. The much younger [people] should go, too; we’re not against [it]. This is yet another option for a relatively inexpensive sea recreation,” Apresyan added.
