YEREVAN. – Armenia and Georgia will get an opportunity to use new situation for the benefit of their interests and deepen already good bilateral relations, expert on Georgian issues Alik Eroyants.

With new authorities coming to power in Georgia, there is favorable environment for Armenia-Georgia relations, he added.

“New authorities realized the extent of energy dependence on Azerbaijan, and tried to carry out balanced policy, and Armenia will benefit from this,” the expert said during a press conference on Saturday.

The bilateral relations are facing problems in terms of Georgia's association with Europe and Armenia's upcoming membership to the Eurasian Union.

“Nevertheless, the current high level of relations and constructive dialogue will contribute to finding solution to the existing problems, a part of them is of economic character. However, there is bilateral readiness to overcome the obstacles, and this is comforting,” he said.

Alik Eroyants believes that EU and Eurasian Economic Union will take into account special character of Armenia-Georgia relations.
