YEREVAN. – Owing to Armenia’s passing to the “open skies” policy, there is a growth lately in the transportation of airport passengers in the country.

Between May and July 2014, the passenger flow—from Zvartnots International Airport of capital city Yerevan and Shirak International Airport of Gyumri city—has amounted to 632,000 people.

In the same period last year, the passenger flow had totaled 469,000 people, which is 34.6-percent less than this year’s results, informed the press service of the government-affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation.

In addition, Etihad Airways (Abu Dhabi-Yerevan- Abu Dhabi) and Vueling Airlines (Barcelona-Yerevan-Barcelona) have entered the Armenian aviation market.
