YEREVAN. – The Armenia-made meat products will be exported to Russia in a foreseeable future.
Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan stated the aforementioned in response to a query by the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter.
He noted that the meat factories of Armenia are preparing to form a respective union and take steps to export meat products to Russia.
“We believe that we can offer not solely meat products, but fresh meat to the Russian market,” the minister noted.
At present, the Armenia-made meat products are primarily for domestic consumption. Armenia’s virtually sole meat-product export market is Georgia (3-4%), and less than 1 percent of Armenia’s meat products are exported to Russia.
