YEREVAN. – Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan on Monday received a group of Canadian MPs who are visiting Armenia.

“I am glad that the Armenian-Canadian talks have invigorated. The invigoration of the ties is important for the Armenian community of Canada.

“I express my deepest gratitude to the Canadian authorities for the opportunity to preserve our national traditions, language, and identity.

“A special thanks that the Canadian Parliament has accepted the fact of the Armenian Genocide. For us Canada is the best example of democracy, [and] human rights,” the minister specifically said in her welcoming remarks.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the trends toward, and the prospect for, the development of Armenian-Canadian relations.
