The Armenian embassy to the Holy See organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the Christianity in the Italian town of Rimini.

The exhibition titled “Parables of the Orient. Christianity and the Challenge of the New Millennium” was initiated and organized by the Armenian embassy within the framework of annual Meeting for friendship among peoples festival.

The exhibition's goal is to draw international community's attention to the state of Christian communities in the Middle East as well as the necessity of preserving Christian heritage in the region. The exhibition includes photos taken in nine countries of the Middle East, a documentary proving destruction of the khachkars in Julfa is included in a separate section.

From the very first day the exhibition aroused great interest in the different layers of society. The opening day was attended eight thousand visitors, including senior officials of the Holy See, the Vatican-accredited diplomats. The exhibition will be open in Rimini till August 30, and then will be displayed in other cities, including Rome.

On August 26, Prefect of the Secretariat for the Economy, Cardinal George Pell visited the exhibition accompanied by Ambassador Mikael Minasyan.
