YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia will allocate to the Ministry of Culture 110 million drams (approx. $268,852) from its reserve fund, and for the shooting of two full-length feature films.

Such a decision was taken at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

One of the films is called The Master’s Silence, and it is devoted to Komitas (Soghomon Soghomonian), the renowned Armenian priest, composer, choir leader, singer, music ethnologist, music pedagogue, and musicologist.

The second film is called Karvachar, and it is being shot by an Iranian film crew. According to Deputy Minister of Culture Artur Poghosyan, this film also has somewhat of a political importance and it depicts the lives of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.
