YEREVAN. – Armenian economy would develop further if it had good background, Armenian parliament speaker Galust Sahakyan said commenting on ex-president's remarks.

Sahakyan recalled that Armenia is in a blockade and this is the reason for lack of good background. He believes Armenia has surprisingly good economic growth taking into account the situation.

Parliament speaker did not comment on former president Robert Kocharyan's possible comeback in politics.

“We have world with Kocharyan and supporting him. Thanks to Andranik Margaryan [the then PM], we managed to overcome crisis caused by October 27 events, consolidated political forces as much as it was possible and ensured support for the president that was followed by economic growth starting from 2001. It was time when the Republican Party of Armenia manged to do everything to change people's life,” he noted.
