YEREVAN. – Requirements for security deposits will be introduced for the gaming halls that operate in Armenia.The respective bill was approved at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

The security deposits, which the casinos organizers are required to set aside immediately at the opening of a gaming hall, are intended for the payment of winnings.

Pursuant to the bill on making amendments to Armenia’s Law on Gambling and Gaming Halls, a security deposit cannot be used for any other purpose.

Accordingly, the documents on the transfer of security deposit—and which are submitted to the Ministry of Finance—must be attached to the package of documents that are required for opening a casino.

The opening of gaming halls is prohibited without a deposit.
