The Israeli Knesset intends to discuss the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

Under an agreement with the Israeli Government, the issue will be discussed by one of the Knesset Committees, likely the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, rather than at a plenary session.

Meanwhile, some republican and democratic U.S. congressmen announced they have revised their stance on the issue of Armenian Genocide. They also expressed concern over Ankara’s decision to expand ties with Iran at the expense of its traditional partnership with Israel, Mignews reported.

The Head of International Relations and Strategic Research Association (USAD) of Turkey Cem Oguz stated Turkey’s response to Israel’s recognizing the Armenian Genocide will be very tough. According to him, Turkey will not stand such an attitude from Israel and they will do everything for Israel to answer for this decision. Oguz believes it will even more aggravate relations between the two states, and Israel is well aware of it, Salamnews reports.
