The Buenos Aires Legislative Council has decided to abandon the project of naming a city square in Azerbaijan’s honor, reported the Prensa Armenia news agency of Argentina.

This project was sharply criticized by the Armenian community of Argentina.

As a result, MP Alejandra Caballero, who is the person behind this project, made it clear that she will not introduce this proposal to the Legislative Council noting that she is very close to the Armenian community and she shares its pain.    

“I mistakenly signed the project together with [several] other projects. I’m sorry, and I apologize. I also thank my friends, who cautioned me about my carelessness,” Caballero said, in particular.
