YEREVAN. – More than 50 percent of respondents are confident that the Armenian Armed Forces and Karabakh Defense Army gave a decent response to the Azerbaijani side, the survey showed.

The GALLUP International Association conducted survey among 1,067 people in ten regions of Armenia and all administrative districts of Yerevan during the period from August 8 to 17, head of organization's Armenian branch Aram Navasardyan said.

“Asked about key problems Armenia is faced with, 40 percent said it is about defense and another 35 percent named unemployment,” Navasardyan told reporters.

The questions also related to the developments on border and line of contact. Thus, 24 percent of respondents are confident that Azerbaijan, realizing that it would fail in the peace process, was trying to break out hostilities. And 24 percent of respondents believe that external forces are behind Azerbaijan's actions, while 18 percent said Azerbaijan provoked hostilities to restrain internal discontent.

Overall, 90 percent of respondents are confident in the Armenian army.
