The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will visit Yerevan and Baku in October, Co-Chair Igor Popov told APA agency.

The goal of this visit is to prepare for a regular summit, Popov said.

The Co-Chairs also plan to meet with the foreign ministers of two states on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss agenda and documents, and will make a statement after the meeting.

In an interview with the Azerbaijani agency, Popov said he does not share the opinion that talks have reached deadlock. He said the Sochi meeting was useful and was particularly important as it took place during tension on the border.

“I believe that commitment to peaceful settlement through negotiations that was declared during the meeting has largely contributed to the subsequent stabilization of the situation. As I was informed by my American colleague, the need to improve effectiveness of talks was discussed in Wales. I believe that summit in Paris can also take place in the context of joint efforts of the co-chairs,” Popov said.
