YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan did the right thing, while addressing at the UN General Assembly, by not using the expression that the Armenian Genocide had not taken place in the Ottoman Empire, but in the Republic of Turkey.

Political scientist Aleksandr Manasyan noted the aforementioned at a press conference on Friday,

As per Manasyan, the President’s speech had the correct emphases, and a criticism was voiced against the Armenian-Turkish Protocols.

“Perhaps, the recalling of these protocols [from the Armenian parliament] should have been stated earlier.

“The Armenian Genocide’s 100th anniversary, when the international community attitude towards Turkey will become clear, will show what the future holds,” Manasyan stated.
