YEREVAN. – Armenia police are not holding special preparations for the opposition rally scheduled for October 24, Deputy Chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan told reporters.

Asked whether police are preparing for the rally especially amid statements on the need for regime change, Poghosyan said police are far from politics. He said such statements and hints were constantly voiced in the past.

Police will follow the situation taking into consideration the interests of citizens. At the same time Poghosyan recalled that organizers of mass actions are also responsible for preserving public order.
