YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Thursday received OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov and Pierre Andrieu, and Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

The interlocutors continued the discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, and the ongoing preparations for the Armenian, French, and Azerbaijani presidents’ slated meeting in Paris at the end of the month, the Armenia MFA press service informed.

Nalbandian invited the co-chairs’ attention to the fact that the Azerbaijani armed forces’ ceasefire violations have multiplied, and that this has become official Baku’s usual practice ahead of the high-level meetings devoted to the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

The Armenian FM noted that, on the one hand, Azerbaijan is attempting to transfer the Karabakh peace talks to other platforms, and on the other hand, to break down the ongoing negotiation process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship. The minister stressed that, in this way, Azerbaijan shows that it is not ready for a settlement of the conflict.

Nalbandian also stated that Azerbaijan makes fabricated statements, and this proves that this country once again shows its casual approach in the lead-up to the forthcoming meeting in Paris.

In addition, Edward Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s willingness to continue the joint efforts with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, to achieve a solely pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
