YEREVAN. – The Armenian party’s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was presented yet again to the European MPs.
Armenian National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told the abovementioned to reporters at the NA on Monday, speaking on the results of the Armenian delegation’s participation in the 131st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, which was convened recently in Geneva, Switzerland.
“We noted that the struggle of the people of Karabakh is the exercising of the right to self-determination, and not Armenia’s territorial claim against Azerbaijan.
“Scotland’s example showed that we should not follow double standards and we [should] respect the people’s fundamental right to self-determination,” he added.
As per Sharmazanov, the European parliamentarians, for their part, noted the need for resolving the Karabakh conflict by solely pacific means, and within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group.
