Tajikistan may join Eurasian Economic Union in course of time, chairman of Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko said.

“We are holding talks with our Tajik counterparts. They are attentively studying conditions for possible accession. We hope that Tajikistan will become a member in course of time,” she said.

Matviyenko recalled that Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC )was eliminated, but there were 56 treaties functioning within EurAsEC, and Tajikistan was a party to the agreements, TASS reported.
