YEREVAN. - During the 2013 and the first nine months of 2014, 28 Armenians became victims of trafficking, including 13 underage teenagers and 15 adults, announced the head of the Third Major Department of the Police on Combat against Organized Crime, Col. Tigran Petrosyan, Armenian News - NEWS.am reports.

According to him, in 2013 and the first nine months of 2014, there were 12 criminal cases in Armenia related to force into prostitution. Out of 12 cases, in four cases the crime occurred in the United Arab Emirates, in two cases Armenians were forced into prostitution in Turkey, and in the rest six cases crimes occurred in Armenia.

Police official noted that in the indicated period, 28 Armenians were detected and recognized as victims, out of which 13 were adult women, two adult men, seven victims were underage females and six victims were underage males. Also, 15 victims gave their consent and were sent to the professional organizations for rehabilitation and support.
