YEREVAN. – Armenian military serviceman Hakob Injighulyan, who was held captive in Azerbaijan for more than a year and who finally had returned to Armenia on October 2, has returned to military service

Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

We have learned that Injighulyan will continue his military duty at a unit close to his place of residence.    

On the night of August 8, 2013, Armenian soldier Hakob Injighulyan (born in 1991) had gotten lost and had found himself in the territory under the control of Azerbaijan. He was held captive in Azerbaijan for more than a year, subsequently, he was transferred to a third country, and he ultimately returned to Armenia on October 2 of this year. The former captive informed that the Azerbaijanis had threatened to shoot him if he expressed a wish to return to his homeland, and therefore he was forced to state that he wants to go to a third country.
