YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Investigative Committee initiated a criminal investigation on the theft by the K - Telecom local mobile service operator employee Ashot Kouyoumdjian, Armenian News - NEWS.am reports.

Kouyoumdjian is charged for stealing AMD 751 million ($1.5 million) from his employer, the K - Telecom company. According to the law enforcement agents, from 2010 to 2014, Ashot Kouyoumdjian received large amount of activated recharge cards, which he was supposed to secure but instead he stole the cards, which had the cash value. The total amount of the theft was AMD 751 million. Kouyoumdjian is detained. A criminal case has been initiated.
